This policy describes how the PehlaChance product is designed to handle personal data, and what this demonstration deployment actually does.
This deployment runs in demo mode. There is no account database and no server-side profile storage. Everything you change while exploring — applications, saved opportunities, profile edits, published opportunities, event registrations — is written to your own browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data, or using the reset control in Settings, removes it completely.
Forms on this site validate your input and confirm submission, but nothing is emailed or transmitted to a server. The seeded students, companies, colleges and opportunities are fictional.
In a configured deployment, PehlaChance collects only what the product needs to work:
Students control visibility. Your profile can be visible to verified employers and your college, to your college only, or to nobody. Applying to an opportunity always shares your profile with that employer — that is the purpose of applying — regardless of the visibility setting.
Contact details are shared with an employer once you are moved to interview stage, so you are not approached before you have been genuinely considered.
Partner institutions see career-readiness indicators for their own students — profile completion, resumes generated, applications, interviews and outcomes. Institutions do not see the content of a student’s applications or the notes an employer makes about them.
You can access, correct, export or delete your profile at any time. In this demonstration, the reset control in Settings deletes everything stored in your browser immediately.
Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact form. In a configured deployment these reach a named person, not a shared mailbox.
